This year could it be full of surprise. There’s a lot of memorable moments, even in television.
Barrack Obama Inauguration
President Barack Hussein Obama was sworn in as the 44th president of the United States of America on Jan. 20. Our first African-American head of state delivered a historical Inaugural address in front of an estimated crowd of four million people in Washington. Celebrities who watched Obama’s address include long time supporters Oprah Winfrey, P. Diddy, Beyoncé and Jay-Z, Tatiana Ali, Billy Baldwin, Chris Tucker, Spike Lee, Jessica Alba and her husband Cash Warren were among the slew of celebrity performances and appearances. Aretha Franklin belted out a moving rendition of the National Anthem, wearing the infamous bow hat.
Almost as exciting as Obama’s address was First Lady Michelle Obama’s choice of outfit. Michelle wore a sparkling, mustard-yellow suit and coat by Isabel Toldeo, while First Daughters Malia and Sasha, took pictures with their digital camera to document Daddy’s big day.
Kanye West interrupts Taylor Swift’s acceptance speech
This definitely tops the list of the most memorable MTV Video Music Award moments, so it only makes sense to feature this as one of the most memorable TV moments of the year. Kanye rudely interrupted Taylor’s acceptance speech for Best Female Video at the September award show. The rapper ran up on stage to give his opinions on how Beyoncé was more deserving of the award. “I’m really happy for you, and I’m gonna let you finish,” he told a stunned Taylor. “But Beyoncé had one of the best videos of all time.” Taylor handled the awkward moment like a pro, and later was given props from Beyoncé.
And The winner is!
David Letterman’s apology
In the wake of extramarital affairs and the scandals which sullied Dave’s reputation, the late night talk show host made a live apology on his show to wife Regina who he said has been “horribly hurt by my behavior.”
“If you hurt a person and it’s your responsibility, you try to fix it,” Dave said on his show in October. “Let me tell ya folks… I got my work cut out for me.”
Attempting to bring some humor to the dark situation, Dave joked, “This is only Phase 1 of the scandal. Phase 2: Next week, I go on Oprah and sob.”
Maybe Tiger should learn a lesson from Dave?
Well, maybe next year we can find another great moment!
