After TR Knight, who left Gray’s Anatomy end of season 4, it was the turn of Patrick Dempsey aka Dr. Mamour want to set sail.

The actor would in fact break his contract for 2010 to devote himself to cinema. The question is whether production is going to accept losing its goose that lays the golden eggs …

Especially as Katherine Heigl, aka Izzie Stevens, has also the same idea in mind. This is definitely the carnage at Seattle Grace …

Special performance : Alexandria Detention Center will sing a song in Christmas.

This is something you must hear from The Washington Post.

It’s a bothersome Christmas song for a prisoner. All that crooning about troubles being miles away. The troubles are everywhere in this room, between the windowless cinder-block walls and under the large, boxy security camera perched near the high ceiling.

Inmate No. A0145400 plunks out the song on a 61-key electric piano. He’s a tall, goateed man with glasses who once toured in “Camelot” with Robert Goulet. His voice is strident, clean, an operatic tenor barely contained by the cold quarters of the Alexandria Detention Center.

“Have yourself a merry little Christmas,” sings No. A0145400. “Let your heart be light. From now on our troubles will be out of sight.”

Inmate No. A0058694 starts strumming a guitar he borrowed from a deputy. Six other prisoners join in for the refrain, swaying in their green button-up jumpsuits, for once not thinking How did I wind up here? but rather How did I wind up in a ragtag choir of prisoners that has less than 24 hours to refine a half-dozen holiday standards for a Christmas revue in the jail’s gym for a potentially difficult and uninterested audience?

Top Chef’s winner!

“Top Chef : Las Vegas” had a very close finale, but in the end, Michael Voltaggio took the title, beating out his older brother Bryan Voltaggio and fellow contestant Kevin Gillespie.

The final three competitors stayed true to themselves with their final dishes, exemplifying their performance throughout the competition.

Top Chef : Las Vegas

Top Chef : Las Vegas

As usual, the chefs were “surprised” by the eliminated chef’testants, two of whom would play their sous chefs. Of note was that Kevin randomly landed two people — Preeti and Ash — not the most long-lived or memorable contestants, while Bryan scored Jen (fourth-place finisher) and Michael scored Eli (fifth-place finisher). What, no Robin?

Not usual:

1) The chefs’ moms were on hand to say hello and eat their boys’ food. Bravo totally got a 2-fer for the Voltaggios.
2) Dessert required!

Here’s the breakdown of the courses:

1. Updated twist on one of mom’s dishes
2. Dish made from mystery box of ingredients
3. Chef’s choice
4. Dessert (mandatory!)

The dessert was an interesting twist since it’s been the bane of many a Restaurant Wars challenge.

Even more interesting? Michael botched his dessert, overcooking it when he forgot to note the time. Yet he still won. Gail Simmons seemed particularly partial to his dessert (a chocolate caramel coulant, kobucha, butternut squash ice cream and candied pumpkin seeds) despite its dryness because the flavor combination succeeded.

Nick Jonas continues his crusade

Diabetes, Nick Jonas has decided to alert the United States to defeat evil little known, especially by its audience. After meeting Barack Obama and have appeared in Congress, the youngest of the Jonas Brothers were yesterday again to Washington to speak to the press. Dressed in a strict suit and tie, he gave a press conference in Washington at the National Press Club.

In his speech, the singer 16 years old spoke of his battle against the disease for four years now and tried to give hope to other children with: “We can control diabetes … I can live dreams despite diabetes, “he said soberly.

But of course he could not avoid some personal questions. So to summarize “no”, he has no girlfriend (yes that’s right …) and yes, he might emerge with a fan. As for his dream job? Being president, says he. He says this will be possible in 2040. Looks like he took a liking to the speeches.

Liam Hemsworth share a kiss.

What happening to this couple? Well, at this picture they look pretty happy.

Liam Hemsworth

Liam Hemsworth

Miley Cyrus and her ‘Last Song’ co-star Liam Hemsworth parted with a kiss and what an onlooker described as a ‘full-on making out’ on Wednesday, August 19.

Cyrus, 16, dropped Hemsworth, 18, who plays her love interest in the recently completed film The Lost Song, at Nashville International Airport.

When they reached the airport Hemsworth jumped out of Cyrus’s truck, took his luggage and headed for the terminal doors.

Alex Emanuel, a New York actor was a few feet away from the couple at that time. He says:

Miley “jumped into [Hemsworth's] arms and threw her arms around his neck and kissed him and leaned back and he was dipping her. It was like a scene out of an old movie where the guy’s getting on a train and they’re saying their goodbyes.”

Emanuel termed the parting a “full-on making out” with Miley being “as giddy as a schoolgirl.”

The night earlier, Miley and Liam shared a dinner together with Miley’s mother. Still earlier, Liam helped Miley figure out the blue tooth on Macbook.

The two were also together at the film’s wrap party together on August 16 in Tybee, Georgia.

So was the parting kiss a manifestation of Miley’s endearing exuberance or the start of a new romance? Miley says she is still single and we are inclined to believe her.

Another Popularity from Ashley Greene with her scandal pictures

It’s a fresh news when we know that Ashley Greene dating the actor Chace Crawford. But this is not the full surprise. The 22-year-old actress Ashley Greene was celebrating her win of a Teen Choice Award for the Fresh Face Female Award when nude photos of her appeared online Monday morning, August 10, 2009. This comes just suddenly after Vanessa Hudgen’s nude photos embarrassed her online last week.

From OverTheLimit said that the picture is coming from PerezHilton.

Blogger Perez Hilton was able to post the photos of Greene before any legal people could get in contact with him, but soon after the photos were put up, they were taken down. In trying to stop the candid photos, one including a full frontal view, from spreading further, Greene’s lawyer is warning websites not to post the pictures. Her legal representative states that the photos are in question, do appear to be Greene, are illegal and being put on display unlawfully. Ms. Green fully intends to take legal action against this.

Green’s attorney has told Hilton that Ms. Greene is the owner of the photos and has all copyrights to them. She owns all rights to distribute, reproduce and display any of her photos. Hilton has taken down the photos of Ashley Greene and states that the nude photos were removed from his site, PerezHilton.com, when asked to by Greene’s attorney.

Trick or treat, another question to all these so-called celebrities are why do you need to take your own nude pictures if you don’t want them to get released in public. Smell fishy to me!

The Breakfast Club’s director John Hughes dies in NYC

Writer-director John Hughes, Hollywood’s youth impresario of the 1980s and ’90s who captured the teen and preteen market with such favorites as “Home Alone,” ”The Breakfast Club” and “Ferris Bueller’s Day Off,” died Thursday, a spokeswoman said. He was 59.

John Hughes

John Hughes

Hughes died of a heart attack during a morning walk in Manhattan, Michelle Bega said. He was in New York to visit family.

Jake Bloom, Hughes’ longtime attorney, said he was “deeply saddened and in shock” to learn of the director’s death.

A native of Lansing, Mich., who later moved to suburban Chicago and set much of his work there, Hughes rose from ad writer to comedy writer to silver screen champ with his affectionate and idealized portraits of teens, whether the romantic and sexual insecurity of “Sixteen Candles,” or the J.D. Salinger-esque rebellion against conformity in “The Breakfast Club.”

Hughes’ ensemble comedies helped make stars out of Molly Ringwald, Anthony Michael Hall, Ally Sheedy and many other young performers. He also scripted the phenomenally popular “Home Alone,” which made little-known Macaulay Culkin a sensation as the 8-year-old accidentally abandoned by his vacationing family, and wrote or directed such hits as “National Lampoon’s Vacation,” ”Pretty in Pink,” ”Planes, Trains & Automobiles” and “Uncle Buck.”

“I was a fan of both his work and a fan of him as a person,” Culkin said. “The world has lost not only a quintessential filmmaker whose influence will be felt for generations, but a great and decent man.”

Devin Ratray, best known for playing Culkin’s older brother Buzz McCallister in the “Home Alone” films, said he remained close to Hughes over the years.

“He changed my life forever,” Ratray said. “Nineteen years later, people from all over the world contact me telling me how much ‘Home Alone’ meant to them, their families, and their children.”

Steve Martin played lead character Neal Page in the 1987 hit “Planes, Trains & Automobiles.”

“John Hughes was a great director, but his gift was in screenwriting,” Martin said. “He created deep and complex characters, rich in humanity and humor.”

Other actors who got early breaks from Hughes included John Cusack (”Sixteen Candles”), Judd Nelson (”The Breakfast Club”), Steve Carell (”Curly Sue”) and Lili Taylor (”She’s Having a Baby”).

Actor Matthew Broderick worked with Hughes in 1986 when he played the title character in “Ferris Bueller’s Day Off.”

“I am truly shocked and saddened by the news about my old friend John Hughes. He was a wonderful, very talented guy and my heart goes out to his family,” Broderick said.

Ben Stein, who played the monotone economics teacher calling the roll and repeatedly saying “Bueller? Bueller? Bueller?”, said Hughes was a towering talent.

“He made a better connection with young people than anyone in Hollywood had ever made before or since,” Stein said on Fox Business Network. “It’s incredibly sad. He was a wonderful man, a genius, a poet. I don’t think anyone has come close to him as being the poet of the youth of America in the postwar period. He was to them what Shakespeare was to the Elizabethan Age.

“You had a regular guy — just an ordinary guy. If you met him, you would never guess he was a big Hollywood power.”

As Hughes advanced into middle age, his commercial touch faded and, in Salinger style, he increasingly withdrew from public life. His last directing credit was in 1991, for “Curly Sue,” and he wrote just a handful of scripts over the past decade. He was rarely interviewed or photographed.

John Hughes Movie Quotes: We’ll drive home backwards

Perhaps one of the best known John Hughes car movies that contains one of the best know movie quotes is from the 1986 movie Ferris Bueller’s Day Off when the boys try to figure out how to borrow Bueller’s dad’s classic Ferrari without his dad knowing it had been driven.

And of course we all know what happened to the car.

Ferris Bueller: Look, it’s real simple. Whatever mileage we put on, we’ll take off.

Cameron: How?

Ferris Bueller: We’ll drive home backwards.

On Television : Adam Richman of ‘Man v. Food’ talks food and travel

What the new from The summer Television Critics Assn. press tour? They has begun with a session about eating and traveling. Except that we found the host of the Travel Channel’s hit “Man vs. Food” smart and engaging, so we’ll give you a pass.

Adam Richman

Adam Richman

Adam Richman, who grew up in Brooklyn, competed in high school track and lacrosse, and graduated from Yale’s School of Drama, wants you to know that he does not eat like a pig — not the way you would think.

As part of his series, which takes him to sinful locations for scrumptious eating, Richman participates in challenges that involve very large portions of food. He once ate a burger that was the size of a bar stool cushion. Get the picture?

This is what he had to say about it:

The food is never processed, always fresh and always very flavorful. He would not recommend what he does on TV as a lifestyle, and he doesn’t film every week. Plus, he works out like a mad man before and after the challenges.

“For me the success I have with challenges is generally because of two factors–the taste is so great and I get so amped with the crowds.”

Coming up in the second season, Richman introduces viewers to a delicacy in Springfield, Ill.: the horseshoe sandwich.

“We’re using food as a point of departure to explore cities,” Richman said. ” [Springfield] doesn’t have the culinary profile of a big city in terms of haute cuisine, but it does have a staple and it’s a point of pride to the people there.”

The second season premieres Aug. 5.
